Dr. Brealyn Sellers - Psychiatrist with Experience Working in New York

After graduating with an MD from the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine, Dr. Brealyn Sellers joined NYU/Bellevue Hospital Center and completed her residency in 2001. Then, she became a clinical and research fellow in addiction psychiatry at the hospital center. As a fellow, Dr. Brealyn Sellers received a community mental health services fellowship in substance abuse from the American Psychiatric Association.

On top of her work as a clinical research fellow, Dr. Brealyn Sellers served as an assistant clinical professor at NYU School of Medicine and an attending physician at Bellevue Hospital Center. She provided direct patient care and administered services such as outpatient detox. She also supervised medical students, residents, and fellows.

In 2004, Dr. Brealyn Sellers received her licensure in general psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. A year later, she received her licensure in addiction psychiatry.

Dr. Brealyn Sellers runs her private psychiatry practice in New York City, New York. She diagnoses and treats mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders. She also provides medication management, outpatient detox, and other ancillary services. Dr. Sellers maintains a special interest in women’s mental healthcare and even wrote an article, “Unique Effects of Alcoholism Upon Women,” in Primary Psychiatry, Volume 12, Issue 1, 2005.
